An album containing 18 late nineteenth-century photographs of Rome

The red-cloth album (167 × 230 mm), lettered in gilt on the front cover ('Roma'), and decorated in black front and rear, is a little flecked and lightly marked, the flyleaves are a little creased, with a tear to the front one expertly sealed; in excellent condition, with the contents - vintage gelatin silver photographs (image size 125 × 160 mm) - uniformly fine.

Provenance: Arnold Edwin Davey (1862-1920, South Australian flour-miller and grain merchant), with his initials and purchase details (Rome, 20 September 1899) on the front pastedown.
