The front cover of each volume is signed and dated (October 1944) by Percy Grainger, with a warm personal inscription in each case, respectively 'To dear Harry, with love from his friend Percy'; 'To dear Harry, in boundless admiration from Percy'; and 'To Harry, in tonal fellowship from Percy'. The recipient is Harry Seitz, supervisor of music and conductor of the choir at the New Central School, Detroit, Michigan. We currently have in stock a superb large-format vintage portrait photograph of Percy Grainger, signed with a musical sentiment and a fulsome inscription 'To dear Harry, in warm admiration of his true genius, thanking him for his glorious first performance of "The Lost Lady", & in happy memory of one of the few electric concerts of my life (June 2). His friend, Percy, June 1938'. The concert was held in the Orchestral Hall of the school; the event is listed in the database of Grainger concerts from 1894-1960.
