The gelatin silver prints measure 237 × 307 mm, 264 × 314 mm, and 244 × 313 mm respectively; tiny piece missing from the top left-hand corner of one photograph, and the bottom left-hand corner of another, with the bottom right-hand corner of the third one a little creased and recently stabilised; a few tiny edge tears expertly sealed; long light crease to one corner; overall, in very good condition.

The stamp of 'J. Gazard, 111 King Wm. St., Adelaide' is on the verso of one image, together with a pencilled caption reading 'The National Memorial to the SA troops who fought in South African War. Unveiled by the Governor of SA at Adelaide June 6, 1904'. One image shows the moment the memorial was unveiled (a souvenir postcard produced from this image is held in the State Library of South Australia; see SLSA B-30436). The other two, taken from the same position and most likely only minutes apart, show the official party during the speeches.
