Inscribed on the half-title 'With best wishes. 'Weary' E.E. Dunlop. Dec 1986'. Loosely inserted is a typed letter signed by Dunlop (one page square octavo, 30 May 1984 on Parliament Place, Melbourne letterhead): 'I fell heavily on a hillside and smashed my right femur from the trochanter level for about a foot down the shaft, with the usual gross escape of blood into a tense thigh. However, I am well nailed, plated and screwed together and should be about soon'.
