Octavo, viii, 288, [24] (advertisements) pages plus 16 lithographs and a mounted albumen paper photograph of the author (98 × 58 mm, facing the camera, looking a little to his right, with the credit of George & Walton in the negative).
Dark green stippled cloth lettered and decorated in gilt on the spine; cloth slightly marked, flecked and rubbed, with the bottom corners slightly bumped; long tear across one leaf expertly sealed; overall, an excellent copy.
The lithographs are a delightful frontispiece view of Glenelg in 1837 after John Michael Skipper, 14 full-page portraits and a plate containing the portraits of Cotton, Watsford and Waterhouse. We have identified numerous variants in the plate content, notably with the photograph of George Loyau.
