As Long as it has Wheels [An Autobiography. Over 50 Year of Motor Sport (cover sub-title)]
Robina, The Author, 1993.
Large octavo, [viii], 191 pages with numerous illustrations.
Colour-pictorial papered boards lightly sunned on the spine; a fine copy.
The front flyleaf is signed in ink by the author. James Gullan (1914-1994) was a Grand Prix driver, both in Australia and on the European Grand Prix circuit; he 'retired' into drag racing. Loosely inserted are a newspaper obituary; a 2009 autograph letter signed by American motor racing author Richard Crump to Eddie Thomas (a well-known Victorian speedway driver in the 1940s, a pioneering drag racer in the 1960s, and an automotive engineer) enquiring after information about Ballot road racing cars; and three relevant photographs, one of which is reproduced on page 47 in the book ('1939 The Ballot Ford at Aspendale Speedway, a new Lap Record at 88 mph, on a gravel surface', with James Gullan behind the wheel).
