Cloth a trifle flecked; an excellent copy with the dustwrapper slightly creased, sunned and torn with very slight loss.

The flyleaf bears a gift inscription (dated Adelaide, January 1947) with the author's initials. In addition, the title page is signed by the author under his real name, John L. Preece (of the Adelaide bookselling family). The 'story of the little ships of the Royal Australian Navy - the Naval Auxiliary Patrol (one-time luxury yachts) and the Fairmiles' in northern Australian waters during WW2.
