A signed program for the Old Vic Theatre Company's production of Thornton Wilder's 'The Skin of Our Teeth', performed on its Australian and New Zealand Tour in 1948

Adelaide, Thornquest Press Limited [Printers], 1948.

Quarto, [4] pages (a bifolium) with a two-colour illustration by R.R. (possibly Roger Ramsdell) on the front cover.

Some light creases, chips and tiny tears to the edges; mild foxing and small stains near the bottom edge of both leaves; contemporary ownership details at the head of the first page; overall a decent copy.

Signed in ink on the cover by Vivien Leigh and Sir Laurence Olivier. At that time, they were married; the tour was a great success, but stressful and exhausting, and it put the marriage under considerable pressure. Extra-marital affairs, and Leigh's increasing physical and mental ill-health (tuberculosis and bi-polar disorder) eventually led the couple to divorce in 1960. Offered with an unsigned and well-used copy of the program for the Company's production of Shakespeare's 'Richard III' from the same tour. [2 items].
