Sydney, Shepherd & Newman, Printers, 1953.
Octavo, pages with 18 caricatures by Arthur Mailey and an advertisement (for RMS 'Orcades').
White card covers printed in green, with a green and gold strip across the front panel; most of the rear panel is covered with grey paper (the legacy of having been mounted in, then later removed from, a scrap book); notwithstanding, an excellent copy.
This copy is signed in ink alongside each caricature by all but one (Jim De Courcy) of the seventeen players and the manager, George Davies. The signatures are those of Hassett (captain), Miller, Morris, Tallon, Lindwall, McDonald, Harvey, Ring, Hole, Craig, Langley, Johnston, Benaud, Hill, Archer, and Davidson. For good measure, Arthur Mailey has done in ink a signed self-portrait caricature on the inside front cover. The short surname of the passenger who owned the booklet is written in the top corner of the page (by Mailey himself). Offered with a fine copy of the 'Orient Line to England List of Passengers' booklet for the voyage. The last page contains the full list of the 'Australian Cricket Team embarking at Fremantle for London'. [2 items].
