A handmade picture frame with patriotic Australian motifs, containing the photograph of an unidentified Australian soldier from the First World War

The fret-worked polished wooden frame (overall external dimensions approximately 420 × 320 mm, with a 120 × 80 mm oval cut in the centre for the photograph) has hand-painted decorations in colour of the Union Jack, the Australian flag and a sprig of flowering wattle. The image size of the vintage gelatin silver portrait photograph is 120 × 83 mm, on the original decorated mount. Apart from a few minor scratches and scuffs, this is an attractive presentation in excellent condition.
