A Contribution to the Understanding of the Stone Age Cultures of Papua-New Guinea... Exhibition showing at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Collected and donated by Mr & Mrs C.T. Shipman, Melbourne, Australia
[Melbourne, The Author, 1977].
Foolscap folio, [iv], 1-10, 10A, 11-29, 29A, 30-50, 50A-50D, 51-66, [3] leaves (printed rectos only) plus 11 original photographs (8 in colour) mounted on 9 stiff card leaves with small caption labels.
Comb-bound pictorial wrappers with clear acetate covers; wrappers lightly creased with a few tiny closed edge-tears; front wrapper a little unevenly faded; acetate covers slightly brittle, with slight loss to the front cover near the head of the spine, and a long clean tear to the rear cover; all leaves a little bumped on the front bottom corner; a very good copy.
A curious self-published work; some of the author's photographs ('War, Mans' [sic] favourite pastime'; 'The end of the Fight'; 'Cannibalism'; 'Headman's remains') are confronting.
