SHAW, George Bernard (1856-1950): An autograph postcard signed (and addressed) to Mrs St Hill, 4 Park Row, Albert Gate SW. It is an official post-office card with a printed stamp (postmarked 14 June 1895) and the message was written at 29 Fitzroy Square two days earlier. "Dear Madam, I hope to call tomorrow at half past three. My hands will be at your disposal then for an hour, if you require them so long. Yours very truly, G. Bernard Shaw". The message side is very slightly foxed and marked (away from the text); essentially it is in superb condition. Neither Holroyd nor Laurence (Collected Letters, 1874-1897 - not noting this item) gives a hint to the identity of the recipient, or the uses to which she put Shaw's hands.   $900
