IREDALE, Francis Adams [1867-1926: NSW and Australia]: An albumen paper cabinet photograph (image size approximately 150x100mm) laid down on the blind-stamped card of H. Parker Rolfe of Philadelphia; it dates from the short visit to America made on the homeward journey of the 1896 Australian touring team to England. It is a posed outdoor shot of the batsman at the crease; it is inscribed ('Sincerely Yours ... Sep 1896') and signed in ink in the bottom left-hand corner of the image. The surface of the image is very lightly scuffed, with one tiny marginal chip; the mount is slightly spotted and unevenly sunned along the bottom margin; overall it is in excellent condition. Iredale was a right-handed batsman on his first of two tours; he exceeded 1000 runs on each tour and played in 14 Tests.   $1500
